Renewable (nano)materials in the development of functional and smart textiles, thin-films, coatings, textiles, and membranes/filters

The usage of renewable (nano)materials and polymers (lignocellulosic, in/organic nanoparticles) in the fabrication of functional nano-engineered antimicrobially active yarns (RRP-CelKrog, RRP-SPOT), protective (heat/fire, UV, antistatic, antimicrobial, electromagnetic/EMI, water-repellent/hydrophobic) fabrics(ARRS-L2-9249, H2020-PILOT-2017-NanoTextSurf), organic dielectric or conductive films (Flag-Era 2D-paper) and textiles (ARRS-J2-3053) for energy harvesting and storage, highly barrier-effective films and coatings for food packing (FP7-NMP-2011-NanoBarrier), as well as membranes and filters for water purification (ARRS-L2-7576, RRP-SPOT), represent another important part of current research activities.
